Mission and objectives

  1. Promoting the empowerment of women and girls to achieve social and economic self-sufficiency.  
  2. Enhancing cultural, educational, social, and psychological well-being for the most marginalised social groups within Palestinian society in Lebanon.  
  3. Combating discrimination and violence against girls and women within the Palestinian community in Lebanon.  
  4. Advocating for a secular, democratic environment that respects individual beliefs and personal rights, fostering inclusive participation in sustainable development efforts.  
  5. Promoting conscious justice and full gender equality as part of national and human rights advocacy in Palestinian society.  
  6. Supporting human rights, particularly those of women and children, as universal and indivisible principles guiding all activities.  
  7. Collaborating with local and international organisations to strengthen efforts in social work, psychological support, and economic empowerment.  

Main activities with youth

  • Social and psychological support activities for children.

    Their story

    The association was founded by a group of Palestinian and Lebanese people in Lebanon. Its primary objective was to empower women in Lebanon, and over time, it expanded to Bar Elias and expanded its scope of services.

    Constituency

    Children’s category:  All nationalities, from 7 to 18 yo.

    Youth category: All nationalities, from 18 and above. They meet young people in the association’s office or centre.

    Current management

    The association is managed and coordinated by a 28-year-old Palestinian woman who oversees the work of facilitators. While some facilitators are formally referred to as “volunteers,” they receive salaries for their contributions. The facilitators are aged between 25 and 38 years old. Additionally, the team includes a psychologist to address special cases involving women.
