Mission and objectives

Development of cultural arts to take care of our diversity and Indonesianness. As a meeting point between aspirations that have existed and aspirations that are growing.

Main activities with youth

Activities include an art exhibition, public discussions, Parkiran Jazz (a Music festival/mini concert), and the Keroncong Bale (a Traditional music festival).

Their story

Bentara Budaya is a Kompas Gramedia cultural institution, which means “cultural messenger”. Bentara Budaya Solo is one of the branches. Soedjatmoko Hall (Bentara Budaya’s activity center) is a pioneer in the utilisation of non-government spaces in Solo for art, previously art and culture activities in Solo mostly utilised government buildings which were very representative and cultural arts activities at that time were centred in Kentingan, which was the campus area of ISI Surakarta and Central Java Cultural Park.
