Mission and objectives
Three Zeros campaign: zero tolerance to child marriage, zero-teenager pregnancy and zero gender-based violence between the younger generation.
Main activities with youth
Activities include events about health, safety, and life skills, e.g. GenRe Goes to School (GGS) and One Day One Egg. GenRe organises public discussions with young people.
Their story
GenRe was established by the National
Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) and is supervised
by the Department of Empowerment, Women and Children Protection, Population Control and Family Planning in Surakarta (DP3AP2KB). GenRe works with the local communities, the private sector and international organisations; e.g. WHO- on issues such as the prevention of stunting, teenage pregnancy and gender-based violence.
Constituency
The organisation has 42 members, all of whom are students of high schools or universities. Their ages range from 16 to 24. They also collaborate with local health services (posyandu) and invite the general public to participate in their activities.
Current management
GenRe’s organisation include a leader and members. Besides GenRe members, GenRe also engages with youth aged 17-24 as ambassadors.
