Mission and objectives

Explore and increase the potential of Indonesian Deaf Human Resources (HR). Play an active role in helping to carry out the Government’s efforts in the social welfare development program for deaf people in Indonesia. Strive for the fulfilment of the rights of deaf people in Indonesia. To achieve its goal, Gerkatin can form an institution or business entity to support the welfare of Indonesian deaf people.

Main activities with youth

Activities include events to commemorate International Sign Language Day and Deaf Able and teach people about disability and sign languages.

Their story

Gerkatin Solo is a branch organization of Gerkatin Indonesia. Established in 1982, this organization focuses on empowering deaf people in Surakarta.
