Mission and objectives

KAMMI aims to develop civil society, democratize, and build unity and brotherhood of the ummah and nation through social assistance, advocacy, criticism, and constructiveness of state policies that marginalize society.

Main activities with youth

Activities include public discussion and book review, demonstration, and member training. KAMMI also conduct fundraising and open donations for specific target groups depending on their current program.

Their story

KAMMI emerged as one of the alternative student forces for Muslim students. KAMMI was established from a deep concern about the 1998 national crisis in Indonesia. The crisis of confidence, especially in the leadership sector.

Constituency

Young people, mainly university students.

Current management

The organisation was established by a group of university students, led by a political figure, Fahri Hamzah. The decision-maker is centred on one person. Members are university students, however, the organisation is managed by people around 40-50 years old.
