KNPI is a forum for youth struggle in social, national, and state life. It also functions as a communication forum and channel for the aspirations of Youth Community Organizations to improve their level, standard of living, status, and social welfare.

Their story

The Indonesian National Youth Committee, more popularly known as KNPI, is a youth organisation that was initially a combination of the Cipayung group, supported by Golkar cadres and the army through a declaration led by David Napitupulu on July 23, 1973. This organisation was established through the Indonesian Youth Declaration to grow, increase, and develop awareness as an independent and sovereign nation based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution.

The target group is young people interested in criticising the government and advocating issues.

Current management

The current chairman of KNPI Solo is Agus Riyanto (not a young person). Members are 23 years old and above.
