Mission and objectives

Encourage Balinese women to utilise their potential to achieve independence.

Main activities with youth

Activities include webinars, talks, and mentoring by their flagship program, (Sakapuan Community Empowerment), which is conducted annually to facilitate women’s learning process by providing them with some learning materials delivered by selected outstanding mentors, extracurricular activities, and a social project held by the mentee at the end of the program. To spread awareness of women’s issues, they have posted educative content regarding gender equity and self-development through Instagram. Their target audience is all women from teenagers to 20s and above.

Their story

Established in March 2022, Sakapuan is a non-profit organisation that encourages Balinese women to utilise their potential to achieve independence. Sakapuan created the hashtag #BerhatiBeraniBerdikari, which embodies empathy, courage, and independence as its core values.

Constituency

When working with women, activities are mostly online. Some are also offline, like talks and webinars. The participants range in age from teenagers to 20s and above.

Current management

Members are women around 11-50 years old, mostly young women.
