The Muslim Scout – Maawiya Al-Bahri Troop – El Mina

Mission and objectives
- Contributing to youth education through a value-based educational system rooted in Islamic principles.

Main activities with youth
- Leisure and educational activities such as summer camps, music marches by the music troop, and a “Rally of Good Deeds” encourage scouts to collect the largest number of good deeds. The rally includes several religious, scouting, and social questions.
- Weekly meetings and activities for the troops.
Their story
The first scout troop affiliated with the Tripoli Delegation of the Muslim Scout Association in Lebanon was established in El Mina. It was named “Maawiya Al-Bahri Troop” in honour of the first Umayyad caliph, who founded the first Islamic naval fleet to defend the Islamic nation.
Constituency
Lebanese citizens from El Mina (18-30 years old).
They meet young people at their own centre and in public outdoor spaces.
Current management
The Commissioner of the North and supervising delegation members are all Lebanese from El Mina.
