Mission and objectives

Yayasan Gita Pertiwi is a foundation that focuses on environmental conservation, agriculture, fighting for justice and equality (gender), and community empowerment by utilizing agricultural management for food security.

Main activities with youth

Activities include conducting research on agriculture and the environment, community empowerment, especially women’s empowerment. UMKM is related to managing the diversification of agricultural food products, training for environmental conservation management, and producing and selling eco-friendly products.

Their story

Established on December 21, 1991 in Surakarta. Yayasan Gita Pertiwi has conducted various activities oriented towards empowering and developing the critical attitude of the community (especially women) through environmental issues and social justice.

Constituency

This foundation targets young people to participate in conserving the environment and empowering women through urban farming activities.

Current management

The leader and Programme Director is Titik Eka Sasanti. She is involved in efforts to establish a food bank in Solo and champions issues related to food, the environment, and gender equality. Managers and members are aged 23-40 years old.
