Mission and objectives

The organisation focuses on implementing permaculture as an alternative solution to the financial crisis. Over time, the IDEP foundation tries to provide assistance to communities related to permaculture and sustainable living, helping communities establish their independence.

Their story

In 2002, Bali experienced a humanitarian tragedy, better known as the Bali Bomb, which made IDEP, as an organisation, aware of the importance of disaster preparedness for the community. Learning from the tragedy, IDEP compiled a community-based Disaster Management handbook as the starting point for the birth of the Disaster Management and Disaster Risk Reduction Program. The organisational dynamics make IDEP a local organisation to learn and explore a more sustainable life related to permaculture and disaster risk reduction. Until now, IDEP remains focused on these two issues with innovations that build sustainability, transparency, and organisational accountability.
